Editorial policy

Sources

We publish news from press releases sent to us and from official announcements by bands, labels and festivals. When we learn about an announcement through another publication, we look for the official source and link to it, and we write from the facts of the announcement only. We never reuse other publications' wording, interviews, reviews or opinion pieces.

Use of AI

We use AI software to sort incoming announcements, pull out key facts and write the occasional first draft. A human editor, Victor Nord or another, reads, corrects and approves every article before it goes online.

Photos

We use the photos that come with press releases and official announcements, including the picture published with the announcement on the page where we learned of it, and official cover art, always with credit. When no suitable image is available we use our own branded card. We do not take photos from social media or image search, and we never create artificial photos of real artists. If you hold the rights to a picture and want it credited differently or removed, write to us and we act quickly.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, write to [email protected]. We correct factual errors quickly and note the correction at the end of the article. Artists and labels can also ask us to update or remove an article or a photo.

Independence

Goddess Metal is edited by Victor Nord, who also makes music and organizes Goddess Metal Fest. Our YouTube videos use his own music. We do not accept payment for news coverage.
