Support and helplines

If you are in immediate danger, call 112. This is the single emergency number in Bulgaria and across the European Union.

Find a helpline near you

The international directory Find A Helpline lists free, confidential services by country, including help for people experiencing domestic violence. Choose your country and the topic that fits.

Why this site stands for the cause

Goddess Metal is edited by the organizer of Goddess Metal Fest, a female-fronted charity festival against domestic violence in Burgas, Bulgaria. The festival works with the local association Demetra. Domestic violence touches every community, music communities included. We use our reach to keep that conversation open.

If you are supporting someone

• Listen without judging and believe what you are told.
• Do not push the person to leave before they are ready. Leaving can be the most dangerous moment.
• Help them find a helpline or a local organization, and respect their choices.

We are a news site and not a counselling service. This page will list verified national helplines and local partners as we confirm them. If you know of a service that should be here, write to [email protected].
